So I was in Port Washington for work, and noticed this little deli sitting in a strip mall right off the marina. The location could not be anymore picturesque. The interior is simple, pretty much exactly what you'd expect a deli to look like. The seating is good for singles and small groups. They're also seemed to be a basement area, but I have yet to explore it. The food was top notch. I've had a few sandwiches from there of the Italian heavy on the meat variety, and they've all been delicious. They're are plenty of sides (pasta, potato and another type of salad I've forgotten) and little snacks and desserts to go with your meal. The staff is friendly and respectful, and your food comes fast. This place is quickly becoming my go to lunch spot when in Port Washington.

The view was nice, the place was cute and clean. The food was ok. Ordered the turkey with harvatti and dill mayo. It just came with one thin price of lettuce and a heap of turkey and the cheese. The turkey seemed low end and the pickle was terrible...no chips or cole slaw. My bill was over $10.00 for the sandwich and a soda. Service was friendly but slow. The deserts looked yummy, perhaps that is what I should have ordered. On the bright side, I loved spending time with my friends!

This location is perfect for the view and patio. They have quite a variety of hot, cold, and grilled sandwiches along with soups and ice cream. The sourdough bread was really impressive. The turkey was good (and there was a generous portion) but the sandwich lacked anything else interesting. My sister was very happy with the chicken salad and my mother with her club sandwich (looked the best of the bunch.)

Dockside deli is in a convenient location with beautiful views, but as a vegetarian the options are extremely limited. The veggie quesadilla is good, the garden patch is nothing to write home about, same goes for the grilled cheese. The soups that would appear veggie are actually made with chicken or beef stock which defeats the purpose and the pasta salad has meat too. If you're not a fellow vegetarian this place has many different options and the sandwiches I've seen do look appealing. Better veggie eats can be found near by at the Daily Baking Co or Baltica tea.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has been dropping here to the point it's not at all worth the prices charged. Today I had a egg salad sandwich that was by far more bread than egg salad. I would say it contained the equivalent of one large egg. Rather pathetic.

Below average. I got the American club. The sandwich was large but comprised of low quality ingredients. The bread was low quality white that crumbled in my hand. The pickle spears were two thin circular slices of pickle. The soup was mediocre and not worth the $2.99. Everything inside was cheap. I'm genuinely confused by all the high reviews.

Amazing items on the menu! Garden Patch was wonderful!! The bake goods are visually irresistible and taste wonderful. Have been there twice in three days and plan to return before week's end.

Had the Italian hero sandwich and everything about it was delicious! The sandwich was large enough that my husband and I were able to share it and a cup of soup and feel full after.

The deli is located next to the marina in Port Washington. They make many of the items that they serve from scratch, including some of the spreads, salads and desserts. Since they do make your sandwich to order, service can be a little slower than most places but you can call your order in for pickup. Service is hit or miss at the counter - nothing to write home about but no one has ever been rude either. Some of the items are so-so but the real standout is one of their specialty sandwiches, the Harbormaster ($6.25). It has smoked turkey, creamy Havarti cheese, lettuce and homemade dill and shallot mayo on their own sourdough bread. The sandwich is generous and comes with a pickle. I typically eat half and save the other half for dinner or lunch the following day. I have never been disappointed when ordering the Harbormaster. I used to enjoy their New England Clam Chowder on Fridays, however last time I ordered they heated it up in the microwave and the quality was not as high as I had experienced in the past. This is a nice stop in the afternoon for a lunch by the lake. Just make sure you have a little extra time to spare if they are busy.

Five us stopped in ten minutes before closing and ended up leaving because we flustered the staff so much. They stopped taking our order to lock the doors to keep any more customers from coming in. It felt hostile so we left. My advice is to stay away if it's after two pm.

Good soup and sandwich. This is a low key place to have lunch. I was just what I was expecting. I plan on returning.

This place is great! It is located in the heart of downtown Port Washington and sits right on the lake. Easy to walk/bike to from any area, and the porch view is beautiful. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly! As a local, I come here for lunch occasionally and have always had an outstanding experience. Highly recommend for locals and tourists alike!

I absolutely love this place when I just want a really good sandwich. I order the Sammich, but have them grill it. Super yummy.

This place rocks!! My wife and I very much enjoy the menu variety and high quality food. Out of the MANY times visiting this deli we never have had a complaint. Ticket times are fast. Staff is always friendly, restrooms and dining rooms are clean and orderly. The location is great...nothing better than enjoying a great sandwich over looking the harbor. Port Washington has a real gem with this deli. Keep up the Great work!!

Dockside deli is the best. I have eaten here for over 6 years. Everything is from scratch and always fresh. From the omelets at breakfast with just about anything you want added to the sandwiches and soups. My favorite, as well as my entire family, is the 3 cheese grill cheese on sourdough! Match that with a cup of homemade soup and you have the dream meal. If this doesn't fill you up then you must have one of the wide selection of desserts. I think I have had them all over the years. Whenever you are in Port Washington it is a must stop.

I actually really liked the food here despite what my expections were. I had the veggie wrap and it was delish. The cream cheese and hummus could have been distributed more evenly but that's splittting hairs. The oven roasted turkey was also really good. The cabbage with smoked sausage soup was great - even though it just had one piece of sausage and we even got to talk to the cook who asked what we thought of it. The portions were a tad underwhelming but the taste made up for it. (Imagine child-size portions. 'Cuz that's what you're looking at...) Service was pretty darn good, however keep an eye out for the bees and wasps if you are eating outside.

Good breakfast food, ideal location with views of the port, too many bees outside make it annoying to eat outside.

I've only been down to the Deli once but the food was good! I am a vegetarian and I got a veggie wrap. As other posters have mentioned it did take a very long time to make. The other members of my party had their sandwiches long before I did, so I took my pager up the front twice just to make sure it was working. I wont complain about the time it took to make the food because it was nice to have something that wasn't fast food or mass produced assembly line style. What I was disappointed in was the fact that while I went up to see if my food was ready, I could see them making the food. The hummus they used was just Athenos brand like you can buy at pick n save. The tortillas were store bought too. When I go to a restaurant I expect it to be something special and not something i could have created myself. It would have been nice to have some freshly made food. idk. for the price i thought they might make it on their own. I also wish (for the price) that our wraps and sandwiches came with a side. Maybe some slaw, or pasta salad? The food was really really good though! I would go back again.

Good food in a beautiful setting right in downtown Port Washington. The outdoor seating has a view of the harbor and the harbor walk. Easy access to the charter boats and the marina. My wife and I have been there several times and really enjoy the atmosphere and did I say that the food is good. They also have free WiFi just ask them what the password is.

Dockside Deli is the place for a nice relaxing lunch with a fantastic view of the marina from inside of outside on the patio. Good selection of soups, sandwiches and deserts. As some others have mentioned, it takes a few minutes to get your food but when your just hanging out people watching who cares?

I had the Reuben, surprisingly one of the best Reubens I've ever eaten. As good as anything I've had in Kosher Canyon in LA.

As close to the marina as a deli can get without actually running the operation off of a boat (address is actually 222 E. Main Street). It sits in the corner of a little strippish type mall right next to the commercial and guest slip portion of the marina, so its great for the boating crowd and anyone else just hanging out in the marina. Soups and sandwiches are very good (clam chowder and reubens are my fav), and the pastries, especially muffins, for brekky are also good. Couple of different flavors of coffee, self serve from those pump-caraf type of containers, keeps it hot enough. Small kitchen/food prep area, sort of right out in the open behind the counter, and a small group of people working in there who really have their operation down pat. The little beepers they give out to people waiting on their orders is kind of different, and seem to work well. Gets pretty busy at lunchtime, but you can call ahead for take out. web: docksidedeli.com/index.p…

Perhaps if you just docked your Jay-Z influenced yacht in the nearby harbor and normally dine in overpriced, slow paced, snoozer menu restaurants, this place would rate highly! However, I live in this town and cringe when my unemployed self receives gift certificates to this establishment. If one is expecting the aromas and cacophony of a REAL deli, head back to the yacht! With $25 dollars in hand, my spouse and I ordered a Rueben, Chicken Salad on a croissant, and a piece of carrot cake. No change was provided, nor do these items come with sides. We were provided a pager and took a seat overlooking a flock of fearless sparrows in the parking lot. After waiting 10 minutes, I began to grow restless. It took a Thurston Howell III looking tourist to ask if we were waiting on a Rueben. He said it had been setting on the counter for over five minutes! I dismissed him and relayed that must be someone else's sandwich. A few minutes later, I approached the counter to inquire about our order. As I stood there, the pager magically went off and that aforementioned Rueben was now handed to me, along with the Chicken Salad crossiant! I was speechless. Who triages an order like this?! Wouldn't most places time it so the chicken salad was scooped on a croissant while the Rueben was being flipped on the griddle? I had to remind the staff that I had also ordered a piece of carrot cake. In short order, the Rueben was not hot, the chicken salad a disappointment in terms of portion size and the carrot cake was definitely overpriced.
